Hello everyone
I recently noticed that you are seeing adds in my videos. This is not because of me but because YouTube needs more money and puts it there. It is in their new terms and I can neither change it nor get anything out of it, until I make partner.
Second, ads can now appear on videos from channels not in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP), and we will begin gradually placing ads on brand safe videos. This is part of our ongoing investments in new solutions, like Home Feed ads, that help advertisers responsibly tap into the full scale of YouTube to connect with their audiences and grow their businesses. Advertisers will continue to have full access to our brand suitability controls. Over the past three years, we improved our ability to identify appropriate placements for advertisers, in part by working closely with our advertising partners and industry organizations. Because these channels are not in YPP, there is no creator revenue share, but creators can still apply to YPP once they hit the eligibility criteria, which remains the same.
So, I am very sorry if you see these adds in the center of my creations and I myself am really annoyed about it. If I can make partner then at least I can have a say in it put that will take quite some more work:
Have more than 4,000 valid public watch hours in the last 12 months.
Have more than 1,000 subscriber
You can be an AMAZING help with nr 2, the 1k subs which will also give me a community tab so I can get in touch with you through the channel. Share my work with all your friends and make sure they subscribe. Also, watch the whole video through the end so it counts as watch time.
I will need to make sure that I produce more than one type of content to attract more followers AND reach that high 4000 hrs.
What I am thinking about is:
- create 5-10min videos about general dnd topics
- Since I also play Pathfinder 2e I might add that to the greyhawk content
- I was thinking of starting a talkshow on twitch and then add that to YouTube as well
Tell me in the comments what your ideas are because If you are subscribed here, you are the community I make these for.
Thank you all for your support
This is pretty much "par for the course" with YouTube these days. I typically just endure the commercials and let the video play on, because the content creator is supposed to get revenue credit, assuming you've got enough subscribers to be "monetized", if you don't click the "skip ads" button. I despise the ads, but I love the content in the channels I subscribe to. :-) I'm going to see if any of my D&D pals will get off their backsides and subscribe to your Greyhawk video channel. Thanks for the great content!
